The good 6
Scenery & beachesSoufrière
After many island hikes and tours, a honeymoon couple still thought their own resort had the best Piton views, at breakfast, from the pool, everywhere.
“this resort may have the best views on St. Lucia and some of the best I’ve ever seen”

Things to doSoufrière
Another honeymoon couple, at a villa resort they found good value, swapped the Piton hike in their package for an ATV tour. It was their favourite day.
“We switched our hike up the Piton for the ATV tour and we HIGHLY recommend that.”

Romance & privacySoufrière
A honeymoon split between an open-air hillside resort (3 nights) and a polished beach resort with butlers (4 nights). They loved having both and couldn't pick a favourite.

Things to doAround Soufrière
Their honeymoon days: easy mountain biking at Anse Mamin (her first time, and she loved it), snorkelling off Anse Chastanet, the Tet Paul trail instead of a Piton climb, and a rum-punch sunset sail under the Pitons. Arrive at Diamond Falls at opening to have it to yourselves.
“Diamond Botanical Gardens and Falls: Very cool, we arrived right at 10 and had the place to ourselves.”
Honeymooners · Tripadvisor forum · Jul 2017 · Read the original
Value for moneyFishing village
One visitor skipped the resorts and rented an apartment in a fishing village instead. They took local buses, snorkelled and hiked for free, and lived on fish and fruit from the market.
“buy local fish and delicious fruit for pennies at the local market”

The bad 6
Where they stayedSoufrière
At a Piton-view resort, their room had no air conditioning and no blinds, so they were up with the sun every morning.
“There was no sleeping late for us because the room got so bright once the sun rose.”

Value for moneySoufrière
Eating at the luxury resorts adds up fast: they priced breakfast at $75 a day and cocktails at $15 or more. Without an all-inclusive plan, they suggest budgeting at least $400 a day for food and drink.
“budget that it will cost you at least $400 a day for food and drinks”

Getting aroundAirport transfer
Taxis are pricey. They felt renting a car for the week saved money and gave them freedom, though the roads are winding, steep and rough in places.
“Taxis are very expensive, from airport to hotel alone was $100 each way.”
Honeymooners · Tripadvisor forum · Jul 2017 · Read the original
Crowds & noiseSulphur Springs
The sulphur springs mud bath was mobbed by tour groups at midday. They waited ten minutes for the groups to leave, then had it to themselves.
“We arrived (1ish) when there were a number of tour groups and the place was a mad house.”
Honeymooners · Tripadvisor forum · Jul 2017 · Read the original
Where they stayedSoufrière
Their open-walled room had no air conditioning, so nights got warm, though the breeze helped. By the second day, ants had found their snacks.
“by the 2nd day the ants came marching in”

Local peopleHorseback tour
A honeymoon couple loved their all-inclusive and their excursions. The one sour note came on a horseback tour, when locals tried to take photos of the women in the group in their swimsuits.
“The only negative experience we had was on the horseback tour”
